The government of Samoa has decided to move away from the airline Virgin Samoa and create its own intermodal operations. It will re-launch its international services initially with the support of Fiji Airways. The airline is planning to revamp itself and planning to launch new services to destinations like Tonga, Fiji, and Tokelau.
Since Apia’s Fagali’i airport can now be used by smaller aircraft only, Samoa Airways operates out of the larger Faleolo International.

- Single Boeing 737-800 – To be replaced shortly by the new Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft fitted with powerful, fuel-efficient LEAP-1B engine. This new aircraft will have 16 Business Class and 173 Economy seats and will operate flights between Apia, Auckland, Sydney, and Brisbane.
- 3 x De Havilland Canada DHC-6-300 Twin Otter (19 seater is to be replaced with a 50 seater)

Business Class
Business class customers get complimentary access to the Business lounge with facilities like Private restrooms, shower facilities, and unlimited free WiFi. There are 16 business seats on the 737-800 arranged in 2×2 configuration. In-flight meals consist of premium food and beverage service including Samoan-inspired dish and an array of beverages including some refreshing Samoan thirst-quenchers. Check-in
Passengers can only check-in at the airline’s check-in facility. For flights between Samoa and Australia or New Zealand, check-in opens 3 hours before the scheduled departure. Check-in closes 60-minutes before departure; however, passengers are advised to check-in at least 90 minutes before the departure.
For flights between Samoa and American Samoa, check-in opens 1 hour before the scheduled departure and closes 60 minutes before the departure.
