About Air Zimbabwe Pvt. Ltd Company
Air Zimbabwe Pvt. Ltd; operating as Air Zimbabwe, IATA Code – UM is been operated by Air Zimbabwe Private Limited, which is wholly owned by the Zimbabwe Government. Air Zimbabwe’s headquarters is at Harare International Airport. The airline originated from Air Rhodesia which was owned by Central Africa Airlines in the year 1946. It was named Air Zimbabwe Rhodesia and was later named Air Zimbabwe when the Republic of Zimbabwe was formed.
The airline operated services to Harare, Durban, Johannesburg, Asia, and London-Gatwick. The carrier used to operate flights to southern Africa, Asia, and the lucrative London-Gatwick route left to itself after British Airways terminated this route. After becoming a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA); Air Zimbabwe extended its regional routes to Gaborone, Lusaka, Lilongwe, and Nairobi besides operating intercontinental flights to Athens, Frankfurt, and London and also the Harare–Perth–Sydney route in association with Qantas. Following financial difficulties, Air Zimbabwe ceased operations in late February 2012 only to intermittently start operations in the following year before it finally called it off and retrenched 600 of its employees out of total 1000 in July 2014. Air Zimbabwe’s debts amounted to more than $300 million which lead to a halt in its flights to most destinations due to debtors threats to impound their aircraft. With mounting debts, only 3 of its aircraft could be operational, and the airline was put under administration on 6 October 2018.

Normal fares
These are restrictive fares that are denoted by Y for the economy class and J for Business class. Tickets are valid maximum for 6 months for domestic and 12months for international booking up until when the dates and routes can be changed. These fares are also usually refundable, and an open return booking is allowed during the ticket validity.
Special fares
This is the most extensive fare category chosen by most passengers and have a fixed date of departure and arrival. Change to these special fares related to the dates is prohibited or may be allowed after imposing a substantial penalty. In special cases, a new ticket can be issued with a new date but at a higher price. Refund of these special fare tickets may only be allowed in exceptional cases.
Business Class
